Mole Poblano

Note: If you're in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Nanak's Restaurant is still there, try it. This is their recipe.  It's easy -- for Mole!    My notes say serve on blue corn tortillas, but this is more like a soup, so we use tortilla for dipping.  They didn't offer an amount for soup.  I recommend making only enough to serve your family, since this is not good for leftover use.

1  fryer, cut up and cooked as for chicken soup

4 T butter
1/2 t ground coriander
4 T sesame seeds
1/2 t anise
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cp raisins
4 cloves garlic, pressed
1 cp blanched almonds
1/2 t chili powder
1 1/2 oz Bakers chocolate
1/2 t ground cloves
3 large tomatoes
1/2 t cinnamon

Blue corn tortillas

1.  Brown chicken pieces well in 1/4 cp. fat.
2.  Add other ingredients (except tomato, garlic) to chicken broth; stir well.
3.  Add tomato & garlic, chicken to mixture and simmer uncovered 30" or till chicken is tender and broth is thick sauce.
