Beef Stew - Peter Christian's

Serves 6
Heat in heavy saucepan:
3 T oil
1 lb stew meat
1 t garlic powder
1/4 t black pepper


Quickly stir in 3 T flour and add:
1/2 bottle dark beer


Simmer for 1 hour

Add, coarsely chopped:
3/4 lb carrots
3 medium potatoes
1 medium onion
1 small turnip
1 cp mushrooms
salt to taste

Season with:
1/2 t thyme
1 T basil
1 T parsley
1 T Worcestershire sauce
salt to taste


Continue to simmer for 15 minutes.
