YIELDS
Note: Stopped recording to this table after 2004. In 2006, we planted about 93 pepper plants--Garden Salasa, Hungarian, and Cherry for pickling; habanero, ancho, tabasco for drying, and jalapenos for salsa. Our total harvest for all was about 10 lbs! In 2007, we planted about 63 pepper plants and will probably get about 6 lbs. We did not use black plastic this year for the first time, so that may have affected the yield. We also had 15 pts of salsa left from last year, so we are reducing our needs. This year, we need about 17 pounds of hot peppers and 20 pounds of roma tomatoes to get about 25 pints of salsa and 15 pints of pickled peppers. Just learned our pepper supplier, the only one in New Hampshire who grows hot peppers, sold their farm, so buying local may no longer be an option for us.
